TRY THE TEST

Answering Islam - A Christian-Muslim dialog

  • Consummation versus Abrogation

Did God change his mind? In both books, the Bible and the Quran one can find "changes" in regard to the validity or applicability of certain commands. What do Bible and Quran teach about these changes? You may be surprised how different the biblical concept of consummation is from the quranic concept of abrogation.

  • The Cruci-fiction of the Qur’an

Being rather vague and open to interpretation, Surah 4:157-158 take the form of an unsolvable mystery in the hands of Muslim apologists who ironically contribute to their obscurity through their differing and puzzling comments. This kind of a disagreement concerning the true meaning of these verses condemns the Qur’an into a chain of paradoxes that subsequently undermine the validity and credibility of the Islamic hypothesis about Jesus’ crucifixion.

  • Divinely Inspired Ignorance?

In Muhammad's time, most Jews (and Christians) rejected Muhammad's claims to prophethood because he did not satisfy the biblical criteria for a prophet. In Surah 3:183 the Qur'an accuses those 'stubborn' Jews that they had already killed earlier messengers of God who had brought a specific divine miracle of authentication, i.e. that fire from heaven devoured a sacrifice. However, this claim presents a considerable problem.

  • The Greatest Deceiver of them All

Would you trust somebody who openly boasts to be a skilled deceiver? It should be disturbing to Muslims and non-Muslims alike that the Qur'an speaks of Allah as deceiving and misleading others in about a dozen passages. If this is indeed part of the character of Allah, how can the Qur'an be trusted?
